Simple Crochet Baby Blanket

Look what I made! I found these beautiful bundles of yarn a Big W (pictured below). The bundles are made up of 4 different yarns – different colours and textures so its fun to work with and you come up with this cool result. Also saves a bit of time as you don’t need to finish off any threads which is the annoying part when you are working with lots of different colours.

My finished blankets measure 125cm X 100cm and required 4 balls of yarn. This is quite a large blanket. A blanket half the size would be great for a pram blanket and will only use 2 balls.

Here is the crochet pattern I used but you can make your blanket smaller if you wish.

Row 1: make a chain 86 stitches long

Row 2: miss 3 chain, 1 treble in each chain to end (84 trebles), turn

Row 3: 1 double chain, 1 chain in first treble, 1 treble in each of the next 2 treble, *miss 1 treble, 2 treble in next treble, repeat from* to last 3 treble, 1 treble in each of the last 3 treble, turn

Repeat Row 3 until you have you have made the desired size you want

Finish with double chain in each treble to the end.

Finish of ends.
